What does your morning routine usually look like?
Do you function on auto pilot from the moment you wake up?
Do you find yourself being on the go and constantly submerged by your thoughts,to the point that you become emotionally overwhelmed?
If your answer is yes, here is where mindfulness can fit and benefit you…
A concept that can play a major part in your overall mental health and that can be practiced in many different ways;from meditation, journaling, nutrition and general wellbeing.
It is about being more aware and conscious about yourself internally but also learning to appreciate the small things that surround you.
We often find ourselves distracted by the stresses of everyday life and end up straying away from our true selves.
Mindfulness encourages us into being more present in the here and now in order to experience things deeply.
By interrupting autopilot through mindfulness, your mind becomes fully engaged in the present moment, with full awareness, focus and activation of your senses. When your thoughts, feelings and emotions arise, you don’t try to block them out.
Instead, you just observe them and acknowledge them without judgement or criticism, accepting them, letting them be and noticing how slowly they ebb.
And when you choose how to respond, you act with awareness.
So while autopilot takes you away from your life, mindfulness has the power to bring you back into it.
When practicing mindful techniques, you can alter the hardwiring of your brain, enabling you to spend more time truly living in the moment,to create new healthy habits to live by,to make better choices and grow into the highest and best version of yourself.
In all the years that I have been practicing mindfulness,it’s became clear that it is the essential thread that helps keep me grounded, centered and focus on what really matters in all aspects of my life.
That doesn’t mean I never get stressed or imbalanced but it does mean that through dedication and practice I got a lot better at working through difficult moments and recalibrating with higher perspective.
I am now able to notice negative thought patterns and break their cycle while it has giving me the freedom to face today’s busy world with calmness and clarity.
Perhaps it is time for you to switch off this autopilot mode that urges you to keep up with the demands of life and regain awareness of the beauty that surrounds you and the good things that exist right NOW.
WITH LOVE…
